  • Acupuncture is a key pillar of East Asian medicine, beloved for thousands of years to restore balance and vitality in the body. At Hua Jai Medicine, each treatment is customized to your physical, emotional, and energetic needs, supporting your body’s innate ability to heal.

Using ultra-fine, sterile, single-use needles placed at specific points along the meridians, acupuncture works to regulate the nervous system, reduce inflammation, ease pain, and harmonize the flow of qi (vital energy) and blood. During your acupuncture session, I may incorporate additional therapies such as cupping, moxibustion, tuina, or gua sha, as needed, to enhance your healing process. These techniques are all part of a comprehensive, personalized treatment plan designed specifically for you. There is no extra charge for these therapies; they are included in the cost of your session.

Acupuncture can support a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to:

    • Stress and anxiety

    • Hormonal and menstrual imbalances

    • Fertility

    • Digestive issues

    • Musculoskeletal pain and tension

    • Fatigue, sleep disturbances, and immune health

    • Emotional overwhelm, grief, and seasonal transitions

Your initial session includes a thorough intake, tongue and pulse diagnosis, and a full treatment plan. Follow-up sessions build on this foundation, supporting deep, lasting change over time.

Acupuncture is not just symptom relief — it's a ritual of restoration, reconnection, and returning to your center.

    INITIAL SESSION (90 MINUTES): $185

FOLLOW UP SESSION (50 MINUTES): $125

Your body wants to be well — it just needs the right support, given consistently and with care. Acupuncture is cumulative, meaning the effects compound over time. Here's a general rhythm to consider when starting acupuncture:

    • Chronic conditions: If something has been with you for a while, it may take time to unwind. A helpful guide: one month of treatment for every year you’ve had the issue. Think of it like peeling back layers, gently and intentionally.

    • Acute pain or injury: In the early stages, it’s important not to lose momentum. Aim for 2–3 treatments in the first few weeks, then taper to monthly as things stabilize.

    • Fertility & Cycle support: Weekly treatments tend to be most supportive, especially in the beginning. If that’s not realistic, try to come around ovulation and menstruation — those are powerful windows for hormone and blood regulation.

Acupuncture at its heart is preventative medicine. Our goal is no symptoms. Once we reach that point, monthly visits can help you stay grounded, balanced, and more in tune with your body throughout the seasons and changes of life.

  • Facial acupuncture offers a natural, holistic approach to common skin concerns. Fine needles are expertly and gently placed to stimulate your body’s innate healing response and encourage collagen production, improve circulation, and support long-term skin vitality.

What makes cosmetic acupuncture unique is its foundation in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Every session includes body points—and, if desired, an herbal prescription—to address the internal imbalances that may be contributing to issues like acne, dullness, sagging, puffiness, or discoloration.

Facial acupuncture supports the health, strength, and resilience of your skin—enhancing your natural radiance and honoring the features passed down through your ancestors.

    Cosmetic Acupuncture works by:

    • Increasing qi and blood flow to skin’s layers

    • Supporting facial anatomy

    • Sedating excess muscle tone that contributes to fine lines and wrinkles

    • Balancing internal disharmonies that contribute to cosmetic concerns

    • Brightening the Shen (spirit) that shines through our face

    • Supporting facial tissues with gua sha

Cosmetic acupuncture is truly a whole-person treatment — we’re not just working on the surface, but supporting circulation, collagen production, stress, digestion, and hormonal balance all at once. Each session includes our signature protocol: Facial and body acupuncture, high-quality natural skincare, Celluma LED professional-grade red light therapy targeted for individual need (see below for more information), and facial gua sha, so you leave feeling brighter and balanced internally and externally. It’s priced to reflect the time, training, and care that goes into creating this level of support.

For the best results, facial acupuncture is most effective when done in a series. While single sessions are beneficial, like traditional acupuncture, facial acupuncture works best with cumulative and consistent treatments.

    • Initial Visit for new patients (90 min): $250

    • Follow-up facial acupuncture (60) minutes: $215

    • 10-Treatment Series (10 sessions): $2150

This is the recommended package for optimal effects. Facial acupuncture works best over a series of treatments for long-lasting results.

    • Mini Series (6 sessions): $1,290

A flexible option for those wanting to try cosmetic acupuncture or wanting a beautiful boost for special events or a seasonal reset.

For current patients that have already completed an intake and are curious about facial acupuncture, an add-on option is available. Let me know if you’re interested.

    Contraindications

Facial Acupuncture can be used in conjunction with injectables such as botox and filler after 6-8 weeks. Facial Acupuncture is not for those that may experience chronic headaches, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, seizures, hypertension, or those taking blood thinners.

  • Hair loss and thinning can feel deeply personal — but you’re not alone, and you don’t have to rely on harsh chemicals or invasive treatments to see real change. This series supports your body’s innate ability to restore and regrow hair by treating the root — both internally and externally.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, hair loss is often a reflection of underlying imbalances in the body. Healthy hair relies on strong Kidney energy, abundant Blood, and the smooth flow of Liver Qi — all of which can be affected by stress, hormonal shifts, aging, and burnout. Rather than simply masking symptoms, Chinese medicine works to restore balance and nourish the foundations of long-term regrowth.

Using a blend of scalp-focused acupuncture, whole-body diagnosis, and personalized herbal and lifestyle support, we’ll work together to care for your system — and your hair — from the inside out.

    This treatment is supportive for:

    • Stress-related hair loss

    • Postpartum shedding

    • Early-stage thinning or slow regrowth

    • Hormonal or constitutional patterns affecting scalp health

    • Clients looking for a gentle, holistic alternative to conventional approaches

What to Expect in Each Session:

    • Scalp + body acupuncture tailored to your presentation

    • Scalp gua sha with follicle supportive herbal oil

    • Celluma LED Professional Grade Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy works by stimulating cellular activity and increasing blood flow to the scalp, promoting the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to hair follicles. It activates dormant hair follicles, promotes hair stem cell proliferation, and extends the growth phase of the hair cycle, leading to longer, thicker hair.

    • Supportive herbal, dietary, and lifestyle guidance

    • Gentle, consistent care designed to nourish your system and stimulate regrowth

    Hair Restoration Series:

    • Initial Session (90 min): $235
Includes full intake, first treatment, and a custom care plan

    • 6-Session Series – $1,290

Hair Restoration Acupuncture is not for those that may experience chronic headaches, migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, seizures, hypertension, or those taking blood thinners.

  • Chinese herbal medicine is a time-tested system of healing that uses thoughtfully combined natural ingredients formulated to support the body’s natural ability to heal and find balance. East Asian herbal formulas are incredibly complex, elegant, and backed by thousands of years of experimentation, study, and mastery. Each formula is customized to address your unique constitution and current symptoms, aiming to treat the root cause of imbalance rather than just managing surface-level signs. Whether you’re navigating chronic health concerns, recovering from illness, or looking to maintain long-term wellness, Chinese herbs offer gentle yet powerful support tailored to your needs.

Formulas may be prescribed as powders, capsules, or traditional teas (decoctions), depending on your preference and the condition being treated. All herbal formulas are available by consultation to ensure they are safe, appropriate, and effective for you.

Prices for formulas are dependent on the ingredients and preferred preparation.

  • Fire cupping is a cross-cultural healing modality that uses heat and suction to promote circulation, ease muscle tension, and support the body’s natural healing processes. In this technique, glass cups are briefly warmed with a flame and placed on the skin to create a vacuum seal. The suction gently lifts the tissue, increasing local blood flow, stimulating the lymphatic system, and encouraging the release of fascial adhesions and metabolic waste.

From a biomedical perspective, cupping helps reduce inflammation, increase oxygenation of tissues, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system—promoting a state of deep relaxation. Research suggests that it can also increase microcirculation and elicit a mild immune response, aiding the body’s ability to recover from pain, tension, or illness.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), fire cupping is used to move qi and blood, dispel wind and cold, and release stagnation in the muscles and meridians. It’s often applied for musculoskeletal tension, headaches, the common cold, and stress. I find fire cupping to be a supportive modality for the treatment of trauma and emotional constraint. Though circular marks may appear after treatment, they are not bruises and typically fade within a few days.

    Aftercare
After cupping, it’s important to keep the area warm, covered, and protected from wind or cold exposure for at least 24 hours. Staying hydrated and avoiding vigorous exercise or alcohol that day can support the body’s natural detoxification process.

    Contraindications
Cupping is not recommended for individuals with high fever, certain skin conditions (such as open wounds, active infections, or severe eczema), bleeding disorders, or those on blood-thinning medications. It may also be contraindicated during pregnancy on certain areas of the body. A thorough intake is done to ensure treatment is safe and appropriate.

  • Moxibustion is a gentle, heat-based therapy that involves the burning of mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), a medicinal herb, near or on specific acupuncture points to warm the body, promote circulation, and support the immune system. The herb may be rolled into a stick and held above the skin, or placed on a medium like a slice of ginger, salt, or a needle handle.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), moxa is used to tonify yang, expel cold and dampness, move qi and blood, and nourish deficiency. It’s especially beneficial for conditions involving cold, pain, fatigue, digestive weakness, menstrual imbalances, and certain types of infertility.

Biologically, the radiant heat and essential oils from burning mugwort help increase local circulation, reduce inflammation, relax muscles, and stimulate the production of white blood cells. Moxa also warms the sensory nerves, which can modulate pain signals and promote parasympathetic nervous system activity (the “rest and digest” state).

    Common Conditions Treated with Moxa:

    • Cold or deficient conditions (fatigue, cold hands and feet)

    • Digestive issues (bloating, diarrhea, poor appetite)

    • Menstrual pain or irregularity

    • Breech presentation in pregnancy

    • Joint or muscle pain worsened by cold or damp weather

    Contraindications
Moxibustion is not appropriate for individuals with high heat signs (e.g., fever, night sweats, hot flashes), active infections, or in areas with inflammation or burns. It’s also used with caution in patients with asthma or sensitivity to smoke (smokeless moxa options may be used). Certain points are avoided during pregnancy.

    Aftercare
After moxa treatment, it’s best to stay warm and avoid exposure to cold, wind, or water for several hours. Mild redness or warmth at the site is normal.
