First Visit

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing

  • Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before your appointment

  • Avoid caffeine or alcohol beforehand, if possible

caffeine blocks adenosine, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that plays a role in reducing inflammation, modulating pain, enhancing blood flow, and the interaction of mood-enhancing neurotransmitters. Essentially, this would be working against the work we do together. If you absolutely need caffeine prior to your treatment -please consume with food.

  • Allow time to rest and hydrate after your session, avoid strenuous physical or mental activity to allow the treatment to continue its work.

  • If you are coming for a facial acupuncture treatment, please note it is not advised to wear makeup for the remainder of the day following your session. Please plan accordingly.
